The Loopler Updates
The update timeline matters because advice from the early Demo can describe different progression, balance, or interface behaviour. The most important current boundary is the August 23 updated Demo.
Quick answer: The August 23 update reset earlier Demo progress and announced that the Playtest would be withdrawn. On August 27, the developer also said updated-Demo progress would not transfer to the full game.
Player-impact timeline
| Date | Reported change or answer | What players should do |
|---|---|---|
| February 16–17, 2026 | Early Steam Demo release and developer snapshot | Treat videos and build notes from this period as early-Demo material |
| August 23, 2026 | Updated Demo announced; earlier Demo progress reset; Playtest withdrawal announced | Start current guide comparisons from the updated Steam Demo |
| August 24, 2026 | A scoring issue was reported and later described by the developer as fixed | Keep the report historical unless the behaviour is reproduced on a named current build |
| August 27, 2026 | Developer answered that Demo progress would not transfer to the full game | Plan for a separate full-game start |
August 23: updated Demo boundary
The August 23 updated Demo progress reset is the clearest dividing line for build advice. If a strategy video, screenshot, or post predates that update:
- check which Demo build it shows;
- reuse the general decision idea only if the current interface and effect still match;
- do not copy exact values or unlock instructions without reproducing them in the updated Demo.
The same announcement said the Steam Playtest would be withdrawn. That makes the Playtest a separate historical context, not another name for the public Demo.
August 24: scoring report
A dated scoring issue was reported around August 24 and received a developer-reported fix. This page does not present it as an active current bug. If your score still looks wrong, first apply the build diagnosis, then compare the observed trigger and build version before treating it as the same incident.
The status wording matters: “developer-reported fixed” records the answer without claiming independent reproduction on every system.
August 27: save transfer
The developer answered that progress from the updated Steam Demo will not transfer to the full game. This is separate from the earlier-to-updated-Demo reset: both transitions result in a fresh progression state, but they refer to different version changes.

How to decide whether old advice still applies
- Check the date of the advice and the edition it names.
- Compare it with the August 23 updated-Demo boundary recorded on this page.
- If the advice depends on old progression, Loadout behaviour, balance, or a resolved scoring report, test the claim again instead of treating it as current.
- Confirm later changes through the Steam announcements archive and keep player reports separate from developer replies.
Common mistake: turning a historical report into a live warning
The August 24 scoring issue is retained as dated context because a developer said it had been fixed. It should not be presented as an unresolved current bug without new, reproducible evidence tied to a current build.
FAQ: why keep old changes at all?
They explain why an older guide or discussion may disagree with the updated Demo. A short version boundary is more useful than silently deleting the context.
